I thought it would be good practice (it was) and I secretly hoped that I could beat the skeletons consistently (I couldn't). So far, the nonlinearity of Dark Souls is seductive; it's a far cry Ha Ha from corridor shooters, level-separated RPGs and clever platformers. I recently played Assassin's Creed 4, and thought that was a fun open-world game; it still doesn't give you the same sense of freedom and exploration as this.

I used that freedom more responsibly in the next episode, though.
